ABEL Construction and Staff Continue to Give Generously

December 1, 2016

The Christmas Season is already here. For many of us, it’s a time for lots of great food and big, new shiny gifts!

However, there’s the less fortunate who have to rely on the generosity of others. St. Vincent De Paul is one such organization that thousands depend and rely on. For that very reason, Connie Crocetti, ABEL’s Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager, has been organizing ABEL’s efforts to donate gifts, money and food for SVD’s “Gifts of the Heart” campaign each Christmas Season for the past 6 years. Connie’s efforts are supported by some strong “assistant shoppers” in the company too. ABEL’s Crystal Schiess and Chelsea Sellers have been known to hit the stores for their shopping fix to help Connie with the gifts and items for the families and individuals in need.

This is only one of the dozens of social causes and outreach programs ABEL Construction Company supports and gets involved with.

Abel Construction receives the NMPAC Zero Injury Award

November 2. 2015

Each fall, the construction industry gathers in Washington, D.C. to honor the “best of the best” – the tripartite teams who achieved zero injuries on their industrial construction and maintenance projects in the previous calendar year.

Established in 2000 by the National Maintenance Agreements Policy Committee, Inc. (NMAPC), the Zero Injury Safety Awards® (ZISA®) is an annual recognition program celebrating those union contractors, labor representatives and owner-clients who work together in a tripartite fashion to create injury-free job sites.

We believe these phenomenal achievements – once thought to be impossible – are the direct result of the mutual cooperation, respect and willingness to collaborate that are found within the NMAPC and the union construction industry in general. The winners’ hard work, cooperation and dedication to the zero injury philosophy prove once again that union construction and maintenance are the safest and best options on the market.

ZISA® is recognized nationwide as union construction and maintenance’s premier award for industrial safety. It is a showcase for the best our industry has to offer, and reaffirms our commitment to sending our craft workers home safely each and every day.

Abel Construction received the NMPAC (National Maintenance Agreements Policy Committee) Zero Injury Award for working 99,292 hours without a recordable at Ford Kentucky Truck Plant in 2014. This is Abel Construction Company’s 1st major safety award from NMAPC. Over one hundred companies were represented with 300-400 individuals in attendance. Safety Director Scott Yaroma, Assistant Safety Director Meghan Fight and Vice President Mike Gies represented ABEL Construction Company at the conference to accept this prestigious SAFETY award. Well Done Team!
